How to remove dandruff

Dandruff is a common, chronic skin condition that is characterized by a flaky scalp.

1.Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil contains anti-fungal properties. It can used 3-4 times a week on your flaky scalp to minimize dandruff.

Note- many people are allergic to tea tree oil, so a patch test is recommended before using it.

2. Coconut oil

Coconut oil may combat or reduce the bateria that cause Malessezia. This in turn reduces dandruff and flaky scalp. This can be repeated about 2 times a week.

3. Onion juice

Onions contains phytochemical compounds that help us to combat dandruff. Application of onion juice on the scalp about 2 times a week can reduce flaking of skin and occurrence of dandruff. Onion juice can be applied 2 times a week.

4. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a great source of bio active compounds that are generally used to cure skin disorders. The gel of aloe vera contains anti-fungal and antimicrobial properties that help fight any fungal infection inclusive of the occurrence of dandruff. This should at least be applied 2 times a week.

5. Probiotics

Probiotic food such as yogurt contains lactobacillus paracasei which helps reduce dandruff. Lactobacillus paracasei helps restore the scalp’s balance of microbiome, thereby eliminating dandruff. This should be eaten everyday.

6. Lemongrass oil

Lemongrass oil is a rich source is bioactive compounds that contain anti-fungal properties. This property can help combat Malassezia, further a type of yeast that can produce dandruff. This should be mixed with shampoo and applied twice a week.

7. Garlic

Garlic has two primary bioactive constituents- ajoena and allicin. Their antifungal properties may help alleviate the fungal infection that causes dandruff.A garlic oil should be made and applied twice a week. These are a few natural ways that can be opted to reduce dandruff.
