PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Treatment

PRP treatments are being used for both men and women with AGA to promote new hair growth and increase hair density. Patients will be monitored regularly to determine results and if any other treatments will be required.

PRP Basics

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is blood plasma containing a concentration of platelets many times greater than normally found in blood. Concentrated growth factors are stored in the platelets’ alpha granules, including platelet-derived growth factor, transforming growth factor beta, vascular endothelial growth factor, epidermal growth factor, insulin-like growth factor and fibroblast growth factor 2. This triggers a pathway leading to cellular proliferation, matrix formation and collagen synthesis—thus stimulating growth and healing.

Treating AGA (Hair Loss) With PRP

AGA, the most common cause of hair loss, which affects 70% of men and 40% of women. PRP helps patients with early AGA by stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells in the hair follicle bulge area. PRP is an injectable treatment which uses the patient’s own blood. Once the patient’s blood is obtained, it goes through a spinning process in the centrifuge. We then extract the growth factors from the blood concentration and injected in the area with hair loss.

PRP For Hair Transplant

PRP has been used in conjunction with hair transplant surgery. Studies have shown that using PRP during a hair transplant procedure improves hair survival and increase density by inducing anagen in telogen (resting) follicles as well as promote healing. Patients will be monitored regularly
